Let’s get a few things cleared, first, this is not clickbait and its true and second I didn’t hack them in more accurate word compromised their security in an immense way.
I had recently completed my first step in quantum computing as I finished reading the documentation after/ along 1 year of just postponing it. So I thought how should I take myself to the next level, so I thought why not do something that just hinders with the “privacy” of the not millions but billions of people and that to in the age of Big Data.

Before I reveal what I’ve actually done you need to understand what RSA algorithm is without the immense mathematics and extremely difficult underlying. The RSA algorithm is an asymmetric cryptography algorithm, which despite being invented in the 1978 is still massively used by all over the internet i.e., web browser, VPNs, and chatting, etc. so basically most of the internet’s encryption. And for good reason as its time to break is 300 Trillion YEARS!! .
But this is the speed taken is not on a regular classical computer but a supercomputer and as most people who study quantum mechanics, they more small/“quantum” become different and weird, and so in 10 lines of python code on a quantum computer and the trillion year process becomes so short that a perfect quantum computer can do it in 10 seconds [extremely thankful to Qiskit for making Quantum Computing free, accessible and open source]
Now for coming down to a quite disappointing sense of reality, A perfect Quantum computer doesn’t exist till now! and the RSA comes in very different forms as in RSA-1028 , RSA-2048 , RSA-786, etc.
Now the quantum adventure comes to a close. So people who were disinterested in the above article, sorry & quite frankly I’d like to hear your opinions on why. And now for doing a deep dive to understand my journey better
· What actually is the difference between quantum and classical computer?
While a computer uses 0 and 1’s as bits and can be in 2 states, but a quantum computer can be in a third state of superposition such that on an entangled state of 0 and 1 at the same time.
· Why doesn’t a perfect Quantum computer exist till now?
We have neither the amount of qubits needed nor the quality of qubits needed for being perfectly stable. The biggest quantum computer has currently 72 qubits (Google’s Bristlecone); however it has an error rate of 0.6%. The hardest problem though is coherence time.
· What in the world is coherence time?
Apart from being one of the most difficult concepts to understand, in simple words it is a measure of how fast the qubits lose their quantum magic, so any calculation needs to finish within its bounds. The coherence time at the moment is typically between 50-90 microseconds, so you can forget about any calculation that takes a while!
SO frankly I couldn’t think of any more points to explain so I will trust your opinion to tell me which topics I should elaborate on.
